Big Foot Day Camp Philosophy
Big Foot Day Camp is an enriching place for our community's youth to have fun, learn, discover, make new friends, and experience new activities in a safe environment. Our week-long camp is designed to keep kids on the move with programming that provides continuity day-to-day.
If you have any questions about the Big Foot Day Camp, please contact Lynette or Chuck at the Recreation Office at (262)275-2117. |
Health Safety Measures
Safety for our campers is of utmost importance to us. In order for our day camp to be as safe as possible, everyone will be expected to follow the camp's policies and procedures.
|
Meet The Counselors - Popsicle Social - TBD
Meet the counselors before the first day of camp. |
In-House Library Programs- The Fontana Public Library will be collaborating with the Fontana Elementary School and Big Foot Recreation Department to bring patrons, students, and visitors fun summer programs. These programs will run on most Tuesdays at 10am. We plan to have the majority of our campers attend these programs.
|
Water, Meals & Snacks
Campers will be required to bring a "cold" sack lunch and two snacks. Bring a filled water bottle daily. Campers will have access to water throughout the day. Microwaves and refrigerators are not available. |
Excursions and Field Trips
We plan on "going exploring!" Extra field-trip permission forms/waivers may be required for certain trips. |
Age Specific Activities
There will be times when we will have "all camp" activities, but during the day there will be different activities directed for separate age groups.
|
Swim Lessons
Water Safety Patrol swim lessons are separate from the Big Foot Day Camp. Parents will be responsible for coordinating and transporting the child to lessons.

Special Needs Children
We want our community’s youth to have a positive summer experience. Our day camp is a high activity, group based adventure program. Children that enjoy being “on the move” in a social setting will thrive at this camp. If your child has behavior, mobility, cognitive, or a medical condition that requires 1 on 1 support, they might not have a positive camp experience. We are happy to talk with you if we can accommodate your child. We are also happy to recommend other camps in the area that might be more suited to your child’s needs.
